Write for us

We welcome pitches that find a fresh question in the familiar: a routine with an interesting logic, an everyday object with a revealing design choice, or a custom whose history is worth tracing. Keep the idea focused, readable and useful without specialist knowledge.

What makes a good pitch

Tell us the central question, the reader who might care and the main idea the piece would leave them with. A strong proposal has a clear scope, a distinct angle and a reason the subject remains useful over time. It should not depend on invented experience, unsupported claims, confidential information or professional advice.

What to include

Send a short outline, an estimated length and a note about the sources or approach you expect to use. If you are proposing a comparison, make clear what is being compared and why. If the topic varies across places or circumstances, explain how you will handle that variation.

Where to send it

Send pitches and proposed contributions through the Contact page, choosing the editorial question option and including your proposal in the message. Please do not submit a full draft unless it has been requested. A pitch is not a promise of publication.
